I tell the story that I wrote with my friend, Richard Henderson. Boy we had fun!
Richard took the ideas from my previous little book, GOODBYE BOGEYS, and helped expand it into the layers that build and use confidence.
I could just explain “mental golf,” but I want you to experience golf psychiatry. What better way for you to experience it than to allow you into my stream of consciousness as I play a virtual round of golf at Glen Arven Country Club in Thomasville, Georgia?
My three golf buddies: Herschel, Dylan and Jerry will join us, so that I will have the necessary distractions to overcome! All four of us get our comeuppance in due course.
Dr. Fuller, a golfing psychiatrist in Thomasville, Georgia, is the author of seven books. ON TARGET: SHOOTING WITH CONFIDENCE and GOODBYE BOGEYS: CONFIDENCE use therapeutic suggestions to improve sport performance. After receiving multiple professional honors, Dr. Fuller turns his psychotherapy talent to writing on topics of interest to the general public.
Richard Henderson is a philosophical entrepreneur and sports enthusiast. A common thread of golf that weaved its way through Richard’s business success was the foundation lessons of how to solve problems through critical thinking and a love for writing that he learned while studying Philosophy. Now, approaching retirement from day-to-day restaurant duties, his son will soon take over to continue the now sixty-year-old, third generation, iconic business.

“What?” Who is speaking? My mind is hearing, though others do not hear my “spoken” words.
“Don’t be spooked, Jack Hill here.”
“Mr. Jack! Good to hear you, again. I didn’t realize you would be joining us today.”
“Not us, just you. Don’t try to understand, Kenny. I haven’t completely figured it out. Let’s just go with it.”
“Creepy, but I’ll try.”
“Something got my attention,” Mr. Jack continued.
Kenny's dream team includes a brilliant par shooter, a trusted mentor, a cockeyed optimist and their not-so-normal psychiatrist.
They say, “Kenny is a real nut job, as if there is any other kind of psychiatrist. Even so, we let him be our unreliable narrator. We accept Kenny’s inconsistent performance, unreliable narrative, and warped sanity.”
A PGA or LPGA PLAYER will SHOOT 18 UNDER in a SINGLE ROUND of GOLF during tournament play before 2025!
